- Do you like oysters? If you answered yes, then get yourself to Maryland this weekend for the 41st Annual St Mary’s County Oyster Festival. The event will be held on Saturday (9am-6pm) and Sunday (11am-6pm) at the St Mary’s County Fairgrounds. Admission is $5 and the event promises plenty of vendors serving up plenty of oysters, an oyster shucking contest, an oyster cook-off, and live music.
- After last week’s rain delay, Alexandria’s Rustico is holding their Second Annual Oktoberfest Big Block Party on Saturday from Noon – 5pm. The event will feature 20 beers on tap and food from Rustico and other local restaurants. Admission is free, but of course you’ll have to pay for food and drink. On a positive note, a majority of the proceeds are going to the Capital Area Food Bank and attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods for donations. The event will be located in the parking lot behind Rustico.
- If you missed the Taste of Bethesda or if you just love street festivals, you’ve got another chance to get outside in downtown Bethesda this weekend. The Bethesda Row Arts Festival runs Saturday (11am – 6pm) and Sunday (11am – 5pm) and is located on Woodmont Avenue. Unlike the Taste of Bethesda, this is an art focused event (it’s an art festival after all). But not to worry, there will be plenty of vendors serving up food from local restaurants.
